Coming of Age in the Holocene

Many of us are blissfully unaware that almost the whole of human history -from the hunters and gatherers to the rise of towns and cities, the development of science and medicine -the whole of our great human pageant- has taken place within an atypical period of fair weather.

For most of our 4.5-billion year history, the typical pattern was for the earth to be hot, sans ice anywhere. The current ice epoch started about 40 million years ago, with at least 17 serious glacial episodes in the last 2.5 million years, which coincides with the rise of homo sapiens, the rise of the Himalayas and the formation of the Isthmus of Panama, disrupting the flows of warming currents between the Atlantic and Pacific. “THE HAPPyNESS”

Recently the world had faced a devastating globle financial crisis.A large amount of Enterprise had been shut down ,worker were lain off to losing their jobs .Food price in grocery had dropt lower than before.People in America, Europe and Asia are Living an hard life in comparision with few yeas before.Some country of Europe as Greece ended up with voilance.Protesting to chanllenage their local government were the only way they can chose to raise their working wages .However some people would rather plough on their working condition than complain about the circumstance. A movie named “The Pursuit of Happyness” is probably a mirror reflecting the real world .I especially appreated a man whose name is Christ Gardner had set an example for all the hard-working people by rising obove obstacles to become the wallstreet lengend. The Pursuit of Happiness - San Francisco

The movie is “inspired by a true story,” that of Chris Gardner, who was among San Francisco’s working homeless in the early ’80s and managed to pull himself and his young son up by the bootstraps. “Inspired by” is an interesting phrase because the movie is more inspiring than inspired.

The name of the film “The Pursuit of Happyness” misspelled “happyness” by deliberate intention,and undoubtedly, in which the most philosophical sentence is “There’s no ‘y’(why )in happiness.”

Throughout the movie we see Chris schlepping along with one of the machines seemingly glued to his arm. He needs to sell two scanners a month to pay the rent and for the day care of his son at a substandard facility that explains the misspelled “Happyness.” His product, as they say in outside sales, is not moving.However, Chris has that dream.
