Saturday, December 13th, 2008

Bonjour Everybody. How are you? Knowing that i am going to shoot a new drama, i took the opportunity to take a 5 days holiday to Paris before starting shooting coz after no time for leisure… This trip was very short and rush but mentally i ve recharge myself. Sometimes when you work hard or you geting into a routine you have to escape a bit, i mean take a break or going to a another country the nearest China or Macau are good also. In Paris as you can see through the pictures i met my ex Cathay Pacific Manager, friends and auntie and cousins and lots of good food that i loved to eat when i was over there. French baguette, french traditional salad, croque monsieur and of coz the water, real and authentic vietnamese food… Luckily i had a wonderful weather coz my friends told me that a week ago was cloudy. Going back now to Paris is like in a hand goig back to the childhood but in a another hand its like discovering new things coz there are many things that i am appreciating now like the space, trees and garden and before i didnt realized it. For thoses of you who havent been there if you have the occasion drop by and if you need some good locations or plans dont hesitate to ask me. Now i am back in Hk and already shooting the new drama and of course watching the one at 8h30 pm. Hope you guys like it.

Dinner Out Paris

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

As my bride of many years greeted me one evening, her voice blasted through the door, “Guess what?” I always take a deep breath on this very leading question. “What?” I asked.
“I just won a sales contest at work and the prize is dinner for two at the new fancy restaurant down by the riverfront!”

Her excitement was contagious. We knew the restaurant was posh because we could only understand parts of the menu. “See? I told you there would be a place for me to wear my new spring outfit,” she coyly reminded me.
“Two can play at that game,” I responded. “I will wear my gray suit, my Borsalino imported straw hat and a new silk tie. We will be dressed to the nines. This town will never be the same. Almost like our first date.” (more…)

Paris, A City of love

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

The first time I visited Paris, I had just turned 18. I remember vigorously walking the streets and feeling a connection with the city and its inhabitants that I could not explain. Every part of old Paris held something very dear, and every brasserie that looked like it had been there forever somehow seemed very familiar.

Frenchmen sitting in cafes and drinking their espressos had an air of peacefulness and assertiveness around them. No one appeared to be in a rush. As I sat among the madams and messieurs, enjoying each bite of my baguette while observing the crowd that slowly moved in front of me, I couldn’t help but ask myself: what was so special about Paris?

Was it the culture, so readily apparent in every square, every narrow street and every corner? Was it the architecture, which I grew up with and could so easily relate to? Or was it that life in Europe was so different from life in the U.S.? (more…)
