A visit to Dubai Museum

Friday, December 19th, 2008

A visit to the museum is must on every Dubai itinerary. Housed within the beaut
ifully restored Al Fahidi Fort, which was erected around 1787 to defend the city a
gainst invasion and was opened as a museum in 1971. The museum’s diverse collection of exhibits offers a fascinating insight into the rich history and cultural heritage of Dubai.

Artistically-designed static displays, hands-on exhibits, hologram-like movies
and information cases lead you gently through the lives and times of the city and
its people, from the third millenium B.C.to the present day. The domestic and
commercial life of a bygone era are vividly presented in realistic lifesize
dioramas. These provide re-creations of a labyrinthine souk and typical homes,as well as tableaux that bring to life the occupations, costumes and social customs of the day.Other exhibits focus on ancient artefacts, life in the desert and Dubai’senduring relationship with the sea.

Because I had to lack some form, I have to be get them and then join in the queue. To my surprise, so many people from different countries including India and Pakistan and some white man or ladies . And there is so norrow access for queue , so you can think how crowd it is . What is worse the smell from them which make me uncomfortable. I understand that if I join in the queue I can not finish my examination. So I try to persuade the people in front of the queue to leave a seat for me . Acctuall it is also normal if they refuse my requires because nobody want to share the cake which is make by his hard work . But I do it successful because I am so eloquent I think I am . All the process for me is very quick and smoothly. (more…)
