Dec

I have been in US for two months

Posted by Yuka as Hot Cities

Two months ago, I came here lonely. Left my wife, my family and my friends back.

What I am looking for all the time? A degree, a job, a chance or a better future? Maybe all of them, maybe none of them. It looks like a paradox. Many people are busy to do something everyday. But seldom of them can tell you clearly what are they looking for. Me, is just one of these people.

There are so many people and so many things in my life during the last 27 years. And there are many people and things in my life in Auburn during the last two months too. From today, Dec. 10th, I would like to write down someone appeared/will appear and someting happened/will happen in my life. I hope it will be a history of my life, just looks like a movie. Haha, it’s perfect.

Tonight is the last conversation English class in Lakeview this semester. Many people didn’t go to the Lakeview. However, our classroom was full of people. Because we have one new teacher and three new students from other classes. Mack is still in Chicago, so the new theacher(I don’t his name) tought us firstly. He took two news from cnn.com and asked everyone to read some paragraphs. If we have any questions, he will explain it, especially the strange words. One news is talking about a woman from Thailand ‘pregnant’ with monkey convicted of smuggling. And other one is talking about German cruise ship to fly passerngers over pirate hotspot. I am lucky tonight because I was the first person to read the news.

During the break time, a lady named Nimmi told us the prophet of the God and then an old man in dramatic clothes told us the story of the Birth of Jesus. To my surprise, I heard amost every word they said. It’s the first time. Maybe it becasue both of them speak slowly than Grandy.

Then, Jordan asked us to talk about three things about ourselves. 1, where is your favorite place in Auburn? 2, How will you spend your Chritmas holiday? 3, One interesting thing in your hometown. Four men said their favorite place is the sdadium and Sedat said his favorite place is the place where he works. To me, my favorite place is tennis court. Most of the girls’ favorite place is Tigertown and most of them are going to shopping during the holiday.

After the class, Dr. Martin drived us to back. I didn’t know his name before though I met him for many times. I chatted with him on the way. We first talked about the holiday plan, then my study, my family and his family. In fact, Betty is his wife. So we talked something with Kunming, because one of his daughter is in Kunming now.

This afternoon I did nothing but read the book about infrared/Raman specturm and searched paper about incorporation.

In the morning, I also read the book. And then I took some time to teach Andrea to make her PPT more beautiful. I am surprised that she don’t know some simple commands such as appear. I thougt American people should be very good at it because they are American. Hoo, this is my another fault.

I just talked with cici about our bloges and pizza then she disappeared. Where is she now. I miss her.
