Different life in America

America is a big country which has many people from other countries. This country is the land of opportunity in world. Many people can find jobs and learn English, but this country also has some disadvantages. In class, we watched the movie called “In America” and we read the book called Sweet America. They are both about people who immigrated to America and lived in this country. Some people believe that America is the land of opportunity, and that it is a better place to live than their native country. Others believe that while this country is a good for some reasons, there are also many disadvantages to living here. In my opinion, I think America is the land of opportunity and beautiful country.

If you want to go to college, the government can help you. You need a lot of money to go to college in the U.S. However in America, we don’t need to pay a lot of money for college because the government can give financial assistance to people. That is good for people to study. For example, a student wanted to go to college, and he didn’t have enough money to pay for the college. The government could give some money to help him to pay. Take me, for example. I study in CLIP program, and I just pay $185 for this program. The government pays some money for this CLIP. After I go to college, I have 2 years financial assistance. It is good for immigrants.

In this country, many people can get health insurance. That is good for people’s health. If people are sick, they can go to the hospital to see the doctor. They don’t have to worry about the money. They just need pay a little money. The government care about people’s life. The Medicaid is the first problem that we need to find out how to get it. We don’t worry about doctor. They will help people first then you should pay the money.
In this country, we can find a lot of jobs. There are many kinds of jobs, even for immigrants who have just arrived. New immigrants can work in restaurants as waiters of busboys, or in a supermarket. After you learn English you can get a better job like in a company or a bank. We also can choose part-time or full-time. We also can study and work in the same time. Many students study in the school, and after school they go to work. For example, Tony studied English in school, and after school he found a part time job as a newsboy.

However, there are some disadvantages to living here. In this country, many people are immigrants. They are from different countries that speak different languages. We must learn English because everyone speaks English. It is not immigrants’ first language, and it is not easy to study. Sometimes I can not understand what people say. In addition, this country also has many dangers because people can buy guns. They can use guns to protect themselves. However, some people use the gun to protect themselves, and some people use it to do bad things.
Each country has some disadvantages, but America is a better place to live. We can find a good job in here, and also can go to the college. It is a very different life for me. I have lived in America about one year, and I will live here for a long time.
