It didn’t matter that I had missed its premiere at midnight on 5th November, which would cost me more and effect my health. However, I couldn’t wait any longer, and yesterday I watched it, the Quantum of Solace, the 22th James Bond movie.

Before I made that decision, I had read some reviews on the internet, some of which thought it has been better than the Casino Royale. But to be honestly, I felt disappointed when I walked out of Poly movie theater. Bond girl was still charming but a romantic kiss didn’t appear, fighting scene was more spectacular but scenarios was a little disordered. Dialogue was fewer, gadget was superfluous, length was the shorest, and “Bond, James Bond.”, the most well-known line was crossed out.
Was it still Jame Bond movie with original taste and flavour?

The Bond franchise has moved on. It makes no senses to live in the past and recall the good old times, then stop complaining and accept the change. It is a more down to earth James Bond movie. A reviewer named Matt Newman thought, the lack of gadgets means that the action relies more on Bond’s skills as a spy rather than convienient devices that can get him out of all of his tight spots, the lack of quips means that this is a more serious Bond, that doesn’t need to come up with a funny line everytime he kills someone.

And I watched some interviews about its filmmaking. There were not many special effects in it, but Daniel Craig said he has tried to perform every action by himself instead of stuntman. In fact, the movie has much more action scenes than the Casino Royale, which required he to put more affort into screening. I though that he surely has given a fantastic performance to creat new James Bonb. In addition, the director talked about how he has made a difference from his other movies, and the actress expressed her understanding to the Bond girl.

In addition, the Quantum of Solace was considered to be not only one of the most transparent blockbusters, but also one of the most complete imported films. Respectively, because many trailers have revealed its all secrets, and its certificate was totally in line with the Chinese strict film censorship.
