My favorite Tim Burton’s movie

Posted by Yuka as Famous

Tim Burton,my favorite movie director, has created the most outstanding dark, strange and stimulating visions including Edward scissorhands, big fish,Ed Wood, sleepy hollow, charlie and the chocolate factory………..He has an ingenious talent for creating haunting landscapes that come alive with an intensity and beauty rarely seen. His characters are inventive and yet often on the edge of the society.

Many say that the people who love Tim Burton’s movies are lonely ones.In my eyes, his movies mostly present a dark, lonely but creative world with hope and warmth yet always at the end of the movies.

My favorite Tim Burton’s movie is “Edward Scissorhands”.
A brief review on the movies is as follows
Edward Scissorhands(1990)
Burton’s masterpiece!!!(Johnny Depp played the title role,Winoa Ryde played Kim) It is a moving portrait of an artistic outsider who cannot touch what he desires without destroying it.

Edward is a biological human ,but his inventor died before finishing him, so he’s stuck with these razor sharp scissors for hands. An Avon lady pitied him and brought him out of the gothic mansion to the town out of kindness.

However,in the town,Edward is branded as a ‘freak’ because he doesn’t fit in, simply because he doesn’t have real hands. He falls in love with Kim but isn’t sure if he can experience it because he’s different. Everything he does is practically ruined because he can’t experience life when everything he touches is sliced into pieces.

This is a classic because Edward just wants to fit in, which is exactly what we all want in life. There’s a piece of Edward inside all of us, and we can feel Edward’s pain as he struggles to fit in. This is a funny story, with Edward pruning hedges into T-Rexs, turning Husky dogs into poodles, and trimming flat and frizzy hair into works of art. This is a sad story, with Edward experiencing the death of his creator, the pain he’s caused to everyone he’s ever accidentally cut, and the way he won’t be accepted into society. This is a story about love, and the hate that can consume it.

Before he came down here,it never snowed. And afterwards,it did.If he weren’t up there now,I don’t think it would be snowing.Sometimes you can still catch me dancing in it.——–by Kim in the”Edward scissorhands”
